The All India Bar Examination (AIBE) is a mandatory exam set every law graduate has to take from the year 2105-16. It is conducted to test the capability of a graduating law student to practice law in India. The candidates who have enrolled themselves as advocates under Section 24 of the Advocates Act, 1961. The AIBE exam will assess skills at a basic level and is expected to set a benchmark to practicing law in India. It tests for the analytical ability of a candidate and their understanding of law. The certificate of law shall be provided by the bar council of India on passing the information.

AIBE 9 Exam Syllabus and Pattern 2015:-

The AIBE 9 exam will be held in 19 subjects. These subjects are the part of the curriculum as prescribed by the bar council of India for three year and five year LLB programs in the law schools in India.

AIBE 9 Exam Syllabus 2015:-

The AIBE 9 exam syllabus for the year 2015 as prescribed by the Bar Council of India will be from 19 subjects. The exam will consist of a 100 questions as enumerated below:

Constitutional Law: 10 questions

C.P.C: 10 questions

Cr. P.C: 10 questions

Evidence: 8 questions

Law of Contract, Specific Relief, Property Laws, Special Contract N.I Act: 20 questions

I.P.C: 6 questions

Jurisprudence: 3 questions

Professional Ethics and Cases of Professional misconduct under B.C.I rules: 4 questions

ADR plus Arbitration Act: 4 questions

Limitation Act: 2 questions

Company Law: 4 questions

Family Law: 4 questions

Labor+Industrial Law: 6 questions

Administration Law: 3 questions

Law of Tort, including Motor Vehicle Accidents and Consumer Protection Law: 6 questions

AIBE 9 Exam Pattern 2015:

The exam will have 100 MCQs spread over sections. The AIBE is conducted all over India simultaneously. Candidates can freely choose a centre of their choice and are also slated to receive printed material for guidance in the exam. The AIBE exam will be conducted in various languages as per the choice of the advocate. The time for answering all the questions is 3 hours and 30 minutes. The AIBE 9 exam is an open book exam. By open book exam we mean that the candidate can bring in study or reference material with them to the exam. However, no electronic devices such as calculators, mobile phones laptops etc shall be allowed in the examination hall.

The result thus generated shall only tell whether the candidate has passed or failed in the exam. No ranks, percentiles shall be generated.

AIBE 9 Exam Schedule 2015:

The schedule for this year’s AIBE is as enumerated:

  • Online registration begins from: 2nd September, 2015
  • Online registration end: 12th November, 2015
  • Date of the examination: 13th December 2015

The Bar Council of India will issue a Certificate of Practice to the candidates clearing the AIBE. The certificate issued is under the signature of the Chairman of Bar Council of India and Chairman of State Bar Council to the address of the successful Candidates who have successfully cleared the examination.
