AIPMT 2016 is being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to fill in the 15% merit positions in the Medical/Dental colleges across India. Some of the state government colleges, universities and institutions are also voluntarily taking part in AIPMT 2016 for filling in their seats through the AIPMT merit list.

CBSE is responsible only for conducting the examination, declaring the AIPMT 2016 Result and providing the merit list to the DGHS as well as the participating universities/states/institutions.
