 Wishful candidates to qualify National Eligibility Test (NET) will have to secure minimum qualifying cutoff. CBSE UGC NET Cut off Marks will be announced in the month of March/April 2017. CBSE UGC NET Category wise cutoff list and Subject wise cutoff list will be made available on the official website when released. A separate CBSE UGC NET Cut off Marks for Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor will be published. In all the three papers I, II & III the candidates need to secure the minimum qualifying marks separately.

CBSE UGC NET 2017 Cut off-Points Affecting the Score

CBSE UGC NET Cutoff 2017 will be decided by the following factors:

  • Number of Exam Takers – Candidates appearing for the examination
  • Number of Seats Available – Total number of vacancies/seats available
  • Ratio of exam takers to seats available – The number of candidates competing for one seat
  • Level of Difficulty – Difficulty and Cutoff are inversely related
  • Marking Criteria – Negative Marks and strict marking are affective
  • Reservation Pattern – Reservation reduces the availability of seats under a category

CBSE UGC NET Cutoff 2017 Details

The cutoff is decided by the conducting authority of the exam. The cutoff is the minimum marks needed by the candidates to be shortlisted. There will be different cutoffs for the candidates of different so as to include the reservation norms. To qualify the exam, candidates need to get the score more than or equal to the cutoff marks decided by UGC.

The cutoff would vary for both the posts i.e. Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor.

Candidates will have to score minimum 50% marks to clear the exam.

CBSE UGC NET Examination Pattern

Candidates need to appear for all the three papers. Paper I and II are for 100 marks and Paper III will be of 150 marks. In paper I candidates need to appear for 50 questions out of 60 questions in 75minutes. In Paper II, 50 question in 75 minutes and In Paper III, 75 questions in 2.5 hours.
