Durham University, UK has two main campuses in the UK – Durham City Campus and Queen’s Campus, Stockton. Students will be placed in one of the two campuses depending on the course they have selected. The main Durham City Campus is home to almost 14 out of 16 colleges in the university.

Queen’s Campus is located in the town of Stockton on the banks of the river Tees and is about 30 miles from Durham. At present, students whose courses are based in Durham City Campus will be members of a Durham-based college and students whose courses are based in Queen’s Campus will be members of a Queen’s-based college. Irrespective of where your course is based, you will have the opportunity to travel to both the campuses with the help of the university’s free intercampus bus. From 2018-19 onwards, all the colleges will be based in Durham City Campus.

Each of the 16 colleges is complete in itself and offers students a variety of extracurricular and co-curricular activities such as volunteering, theatre, music or writing for the student. Sports is one of the main highlights of the university and students can enroll themselves in a number of sports clubs such as football, basketball, hockey, frisbee, cricket, squash, darts, pool, etc. The university also provides students with a variety of support services including student financial aid, a Careers Advisory Service, the Durham University Service for Students with Disabilities and a nursery. There are several libraries throughout the university campus. The university’s IT service also provides more than 1,200 personal computers in classrooms and open access locations.

There is never a dull moment at either of the university’s campuses. Both the campuses are bustling with energy. All the academic buildings in both the campuses are within walking distance of each other. All the colleges offer students excellent accommodation facilities with all the necessary facilities for studying, exercising, relaxation, etc. It is usually recommended that first year students stay on campus in one of the residential halls so that they can interact with their classmates and settle down easily.
