Huddersfield is the 11th largest market town in West Yorkshire, England. Huddersfield is near the convergence of the River Colne and the River Holme. It lies halfway between Leeds and Manchester which is around 190 miles i.e. 310 km North of London and 10.3 miles i.e. 16.6 km South of Bradford.

The town is known for its important role played in the Industrial Revolution, and for being the birthplaces of the film star James Mason and rugby league, Labour Prime Minister Harold Wilson.

The rugby league team Huddersfield Giants was founded in 1895 in Huddersfield and also the Championship football team Huddersfield Town F.C founded in 1908 belongs to the town.

Huddersfield is home to the University of Huddersfield and sixth form colleges i.e. Greenhead College, Huddersfield New College and Kirklees College.
