NEET 2016 Counselling Schedule, Dates and Other Details

NEET 2016 Counselling will be conducted in two rounds and is scheduled to start from 22nd August, 2016 by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has been constituted by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for the allotment of the 15% All India Quota MBBS & BDS seats through the centralized NEET counselling 2016. It will be an online mode of counselling and only the qualified candidates as declared by CBSE will be able to participate in the AIPMT/NEET counselling 2016. NEET 2016 Counselling Dates

The counselling dates of NEET 2016 have been announced by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The counselling is scheduled to be conducted in two rounds and will begin from 22nd August, 2016. The schedule for NEET 2016 counselling is given below.

MBBS Admission Counselling

The NEET 2016 Counselling will be done for the seat allotments under the 15% All India Quota for MBBS and BDS seats in the government medical & dental colleges of India except colleges in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and the state of Jammu & Kashmir. The allotment of the seats will be done on the basis of the rank and preference of the candidates. There are around 3500 seats available for the allotment under NEET 2016 counselling.

Participating States and Medical College’s NEET 2016 Counselling:

The NEET 2016 counselling for the participating states will be conducted either by the State Medical Council or by the Medical Colleges which have been designated for the same. 85% of the seats available under the state quota of MBBS and BDS seats will be allotted by the respective states. The merit list of each participating state will be prepared by CBSE and forwarded to the concerned medical council of the state.

MBBS and BDS Seats allotment in AFMC, DU, BHU and Jamia Hamrad will be done by the medical colleges according to the NEET 2016 merit list.

Steps To Follow For NEET 2016 Counselling:

  • Get the registration done for NEET 2016 counselling.
  • Select your choices of colleges and programs, seats and lock your choices.
  • Round 1 of seat allotment will be conducted. It is an online counselling and will be conducted by MCC.
  • Publication of the Round 1 counselling results.
  • Candidates have to report at the allocated Medical/Dental College before the last date given.
  • Round 2 of seat allotment will be conducted.
  • Publication of the Round 2 counselling results.
  • Candidates have to report at the allocated Medical/Dental College before the last date given

The Ranks Range for NEET 2016 Counselling

On the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance exam, CBSE will be preparing the rank range. The rank range will be published along with the NEET 2016 result declaration.
