No UP CPMT to be held in 2016; Uttar Pradesh to follow NEET this year

Waiting for the UP CPMT entrance examination? Well, this year the state board will not conduct UP CPMT. Instead, the state will follow the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET).

UP CPMT is an entrance examination conducted for the candidates who seek to pursue Medical courses in the state of Uttar Pradesh. UP CPMT is an acronym for Uttar Pradesh Combined Pre-Medical Test. Every year this examination is held in the state to help the students to get admission in various medical colleges in the state of Uttar Pradesh. After qualifying the entrance test, the candidates are selected for the counselling process and further each qualified candidates are assigned to different medical colleges to take admission in the course.

New Rule to Follow

This year, the government of Uttar Pradesh has changed the rule of conducting UP CPMT for the candidates seeking for Medical line. Rather, the state has set a new rule of following National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) Phase II. The Phase II test will be of objective type.

NEET Phase II Entrance Date:

The NEET Phase I was held on 1st of May 2016. And the NEET Phase II test will be conducted on Sunday, the 24th of July 2016. The admit cards for the examination will be uploaded on the website on 8th of July 2016.

The candidates who all are preparing for the UP CPMT entrance are hereby asked to prepare for the NEET Phase II examination.

How to Apply for the NEET Phase II Examination

  • The NEET Phase II examination online application procedure started from 26th May 2016
  • Final Date of Submitting the Online application form is on 21st of June 2016
  • This is an online process. So, candidates are requested to be ready with all the required documents in the time of filling the form.

Syllabus for the NEET Phase II

The syllabus is designed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) New Delhi  for the NEET examinations. The syllabus includes questions from three different subjects.

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Biology

As the Supreme Court has abolished the UP CMPT examination in the state of Uttar Pradesh, candidates of the state are requested to prepare for the NEET Phase II examination to be held on 24th of June 2016. Only a single entrance test will be held nationally for all the candidates who are thinking of getting into the Medical Line. The board said that the qualified candidates will be placed in different MBBS and BDS colleges in the state.
