The Secondary Education Board Of Assam ( SEBA) is expected to declared their result on 27th of May, 2016. The examination was conducted between 19 February and 12 March . The HSLC examination news created havoc when when 5,000 to 10,000 answers sheet were burned in the major fire that broke out in the evaluation center in a place name Jorhat in upper Assam on 3rd March. Even the government of Assam has ordered CBI investigation for this incident.
If we look at the previous year examination, there were total of 3.8 lakh students appeared for this examination out of which total of 51,046 students secured first division while the overall passing percentage was around 62.20%. Ripunjoy Kalikata of Barpeta was the topper of the previous year examination with total marks of 98%. With a total of 78.12% which was a passing percentage, Dhemaji district was in the headlines. The second and third place in the previous year examination was filled by Kamrup (77.21%) and Nalbari (75.09%) respectively.
